Journalist Sibyl Wilbur met Mrs. Eddy and became inspired by her courage and accomplishments.

Sybil Wilbur’s career was one of a well-respected investigative journalist. This biography of Mary Baker Eddy began when Sibyl Wilbur, who wrote for newspapers in Boston, Chicago, Minneapolis, Washington D.C. and New York City, met Mrs. Eddy and became inspired by her courage and accomplishments. In order to correct fallacies regarding the life of Mrs. Eddy that had been published in McClure’s, Wilbur obtained original source material and interviewed people who knew Mrs. Eddy and her family. It was written with Mrs. Eddy’s permission, and was published during her lifetime. This book stands as one of the foundation stones for all the biographies that have followed it. This biography presents a vivid and inspiring picture of Mrs. Eddy's character and lifework as the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science. Includes black-and-white photographs. It is an easy read, and a good introduction to some of the more detailed biographies that have since been published. 406 pages
