NOTE: Customers should note that new chalk arrives with distinct edges on both sides. So, before using each stick of chalk, be sure to smooth its entire writing edge with a paper towel or your chalk holder, so that the edges become rounded and softer. (Much like you would file down the corner of something sharp, so that the corner becomes smooth.) Only after the edges have been softened should you use the chalk (gently) to mark your books.
